4th Annual MM27 Road Hockey Tournament set for Saturday, June 6th

On Saturday, June 6th, McFadden’s Movement will be hosting the fourth annual MM27 Road Hockey Tournament, revamped and improved, in support of mental health resources. The tournament will be held at Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute (289 College Ave W, Guelph, ON N1G 1S9). All proceeds from the tournament are donated to WES For Youth Online and the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo-Wellington branch.

The first change is found in the divisions as the tournament will go a bit younger this year, welcoming four divisions based on birth year, including boys and girls as young as six-years-old and older: 2012-2014 (new this year!), 2009-2011, 2006-2008, and 2002-2005.

The second and most significant change stands in the new fundraising element. McFadden’s Movement started with Garrett McFadden wanting to make a difference in his community. Now, just as the Movement has for a few years, the goal of this year’s tournament is to strive to make a bigger difference together. It’s a team effort. It’s a youth Movement.

Teams must fundraise a minimum of $200 (minimum $50 per player) to register for the tournament. Teams who fundraise the most will win exclusive and custom MM27 jerseys, with more potential surprises to be announced closer to the tournament.

As McFadden’s Movement strives to change, help, and develop mental health with conversation starting at the grass roots, the MM27 Road Hockey Tournament hopes the new fundraising element will bring kids together beyond the game, working to rid the stigma in their community.

All teams must register and submit fundraising dollars by no later than Friday, May 15th – NO EXCEPTIONS.
