On Wednesday, February 3rd, Winmar Guelph presented McFadden’s Movement with a cheque (virtually) totalling $342.80 following the fourth annual ‘Winmar Guelph Warms-Up for #BellLetsTalk’ social media campaign held on January 27th.
For the fourth consecutive year, the campaign saw Winmar Guelph donate five cents for every tweet and retweet that included #MM27, @McFaddensMvmnt, and @WinmarGuelph in order to start the conversation ahead of the always anticipated #BellLetsTalk campaign the day after on January 28th.
Throughout the day on January 27th, the Movement saw over 3,400 tweets and retweets. The effort from various supporters helped the Movement continue its fundraising efforts for mental health resources, succeeding in the goal of developing the Warm-Up for #BellLetsTalk campaign with Winmar Guelph.
In four years, the Movement and Winmar Guelph have seen over 17,900 tweets and/or retweets on Twitter, raising over $1,000 combined with the social media initiative on January 27th in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
McFadden’s Movement would like to extend a huge thank-you to Winmar Guelph for joining the Movement with this incredible campaign, and for the ongoing support both through monetary donations, and overall dedication to continuing to rid the stigma surrounding mental illness.
A thank-you also goes out to all of those who spent the day tweeting, keeping the conversation for mental health going in a year where it’s needed now more than ever.
