UPDATE: The total amount raised from the tournament has been updated to $5006.59 from the original $4956.59 released thanks to a $50.00 donation from former Guelph Storm General Manager, Mike Kelly.

On Saturday, June 16th, McFadden’s Movement hosted its 2nd annual MM27 Road Hockey Tournament at Centennial Collegiate & Vocational Institute (CCVI) in Guelph. The tournament, which featured 25 teams spanning from as young as eight-years-old through to an 18-plus division, more than doubled the inaugural event’s total of $2000.00, raising $5006.59 for mental health resources with the help of 100 players and over 30 volunteers.

The day saw several Guelph Storm players out competing, including newly named captain Isaac Ratcliffe, Nate Schnarr, Liam Hawel, Ryan Merkley, Cam Hillis, Owen Lalonde, Mark Woolley, and Nico Daws, while also featuring former Storm players such as James McEwan, Austin Hall, and Noah Carroll. Former Storm Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager, Chris Hajt, stopped by to take in the tournament as well.

Playing a significant role in making this year’s tournament such a success were all of our volunteers who spent the day helping in any way possible. To those who volunteered their time to referee, sell raffle tickets and MM27 merchandise, control parking, chase after balls, and so much more, MM27 thanks you and knows this event wouldn’t have been possible without all of your help and support.

McFadden’s Movement would also like to recognize Zehrs Guelph, one of the tournament’s title sponsors, for spending the day keeping everyone hydrated with an incredible donation of water, and 39 Carden Street for their support, bringing everyone The McFadden Burger for lunch, in addition to sending a special thank-you to all of the following sponsors for making the day a possibility, and a success:
