On Monday, February 19th, McFadden’s Movement hosted Luke Hollingbury as the MM27 Ambassador of the Game.
Luke, a hockey player in the Centre Wellington Minor Hockey system, is a 13-year-old who is not only dealing with anxiety, but also learning how to manage it, says mom, Christina Hollingbury.
Looking to help others too, the Fergus, Ontario native has begun spreading the word about the importance of mental health to his classmates, and even took possession of mom’s Bell Let’s Talk hat to wear proudly.
“As an anxious kid, we started equipping him with strategies early on,” Christina shared. “As he gets older, it’s really cool as a parent to see how he handles new experiences.”
McFadden’s Movement was proud to have Luke out to the game, including taking part in the Guelph Storm’s post-game Skate with the Storm where he was able to connect with Garrett McFadden.
